Gingerbread snowflakes for the kids to take and share with their friends tomorrow (last day of school)

It took a while for my hand to uncramp after 44 of those! lol
Those are beautifully done, have you shared the recipe - if not, please do. There are so many variations on gingerbread cookies, but never found one I really love.

Haha, well I guess that's pretty much what people do. Most people BBQ. I still like this picnic day thing, even if it's just awesome in my mind! Maybe I will start a picnic day every summer and invite friends to the park!

That's a good idea!

You must have way more fun then I do on holidays! Where do you live? I might need to crash your summer holiday celebrations! Haha

Nebraska, you are welcome to come. Memorial day is usually at the Lake, we get a cabin (I used to like roughing it, but with Thing 1 and 2, cabins are nice)
Independence Day varies a bit, Beginning of July is still busy season for DH, but we at minimum go to the nearby town for swimming, community grill (picnic with the whole town), playground, and fireworks.
Then Labor day is usually fireplace and grilling.
Oh and of course there is the county and State fair.

I agree a great idea. I mean I am not trying to sound witchy but all you are dreaming about is a picnic. This is very attainable. Make it potluck, buy a couple of briskets, and enjoy.

Yes, but in my head everyone just comes and brings something. It's not just a picnic, it's an event everyone already knows about because it's a holiday and everyone just brings something.

Christmas isn't just opening a present, that can happen any day, everyone knows about it and plans for it. As I said, I'm sure it sounds way better in my head.

No it would be tons of fun. And if you make it an annual thing, everyone (that matters) does know about it, and brings something. The first few years take more work, planning and getting rid of kinks, but your not dreaming anything grandiose. I say do it.

I think I will. I'm sure any kids that come would love it!
