Any Home Bakers Here?

Shouldn't take much of your time to make bread in a machine?? Dump in the ingredients, turn it on and come back later to a done loaf right?
Yes and no. We bought the bread machine because it supposedly had a GF cycle. Well, it mixes and tries to do a second rise. GF bread (using the recipe in the booklet) was about 3" tall and dense as a brick.

So now I use the dough cycle, but have to be on hand as soon as that's done to put it on the bake cycle so it doesn't fall.

It's still not as tall as a regular loaf, but it's an improvement. And about half as dense as a brick.

I guess half as dense as a brick is better than a total brick :lol:
 
Just made these molasses chocolate chip cookies! They're really good! They've got a perfect wet sand crumb:
