Portuguese Sweet bread in the machine is good and pan toasted ... even better!
Ok I am off to start the Santa Bread!
Quote:
I don't think so I used to make it my mom is form MA. and they have lots of Portuguese shops and artisans there. She loved the sweet bread so I learned to make it in the bread machine for her visits.
I will see if I can find the recipe I used.
Here comes Santa Clause!
Things I will do differently. I will not bake as long he looks to young to be Santa![]()
I will use a small paint brush to do the whole thing rather than fuss with a basting brush.
I did use 3 gradual red colors lightest for cheeks and nose. (which I formed as a nose and it Rudolph-ed on me anyway) Med I gave him lips and darkest for his hat.
I just used a sweet white bread recipe and added 1tsp each Ground Allspice Nutmeg and Ginger. Thought it would be a cute breakfast bread.
Now DH wants one for Christmas DinnerHe NEVER requests my silly fun baking things!![]()
AND NOW I AM GOING TO GO BUTTER UP SANTA!![]()
It baked up to almost the full cookie sheet so it is not a little bit of bread either.
Would have been more practical when all 5 lived at home or for big dinner.
Thanks NFC![]()
