This is me remembering to post the skillet chocolate chip cookie recipe!

Apparently, I never actually posted this. I wrote it up 3 days ago, and thought I posted it last night. :idunno

Last night, I used the pressure cooker for the first time to make chickpea, chicken, and wild rice soup. I love that it's like a slow cooker, but faster!

I use an instant pot most of the time. I do have two other pressure cookers too though.
For a serious dinner, I will use two pressure cookers!

Thanks for the recipe

@ronott1 Do you ever cook navy beans in your instant pot?

My grandma's recipe for baked beans almost takes 2 days - soak beans overnight, simmer beans for 5 hours, and then bake in oven for 1 1/2 hours. If I can cook the beans faster in a instant pot, that would be so much quicker.
I do a lot of beans in my instant pot. I found the initial info by searching the internet re: cooking times for various beans. Include “no soak” in your search to get past that need.

I’ve also found I need to add 5-10 minutes to suggested times for some of the bean types.

I have! Navy beans are fast to cook in a pressure cooker.

White beans usually go about 20 minutes. Black beans are more like 25 minutes. You then use the 10 minute release time before opening the valve.

This site has instructions for a quick soak and some bean cooking times.

You will have to do some testing to find out how long to set the presser for though. Mine do not follow the times for a day time soak of the beans. I will try the quick soak next time!

Me too! I wonder how they get those short cook times lol!

Thanks Everyone for the answers and links.
This cool weather and snow showers has me hankering for a pan of baked ham and beans.
Now I just have to find a substitute for a Smoked Daisy Butt (pork shoulder roll).
I plan on pressure cooking red kidney beans to make Hamburger chili next week.

The weather is perfect for beans!
