Any Home Bakers Here?

Question.

What’s on everybody’s menu plan for Thanksgiving? I am just curious.

I am heading up to North Idaho for Thanksgiving. Spending it with my family, grandparents, and aunts family. Buster the dog is joining us also.

I am a little nervous, actually, because of the fact my uncle died in the house we are staying at. It’s a little unsettling!

No, the death wasn’t too recent. It happened a while ago this year.

I am having turkey, ham, homemade pumpkin pie cooked by me, giblet gravy cooked by me, mashed potatoes, and more.

I’ll post a picture of the meal when it happens.

Jared

We are having rib eye steak with scalloped potatoes.

I don’t like cranberry sauce, but I like cranberries, especially on a turkey sandwich. Could I possibly like cranberry sauce if it’s on the sandwich?

Probably.

Building smoked turkey
Sourdough/cornbread stuffing (cooking the sourdough and cornbread this weekend so I can put it in dehydrator to make croutons)
Green bean casserole
Mashed taters and giblet gravy
Sourdough rolls
And some of that cranberry stuff for the wife.

We keep it small. Only 10-13 people this year. I've fed as many as 30. I make enough to feed 6-8 extra people. My house is come one/all for Thanksgiving.

There will only be two for dinner here.

Farm raised trout is fine after it is smoked. It is not soft or icky after the brining and smoking.
Yeah, we found it pretty awesome. Well worth the 2-hour drive, along with all the other goodies. And not having to cook or clean up after.

Apparently there are 12 Centralias in the USA.

And then, in a true lack of inventiveness:
"According to the National League of Cities, there are 288 communities in the United States named Fairview, including incorporated places, "

Only 23 Grandviews, they must feel sorry for all the people whose view is only fair.
