Any Home Bakers Here?

Lol, I sell to people who like my nice clean eggs! Seriously, I keep my nests clean and my own eggs usually are nice and clean. But I also sell eggs I get from another lady who is elderly and ... well let's just say I won't sell dirty eggs.
Bet you eat them if they get dirty of course I never would :drool

Then maybe you don't need to wash the eggs before you pass them to the buyers. Once washed they MUST be refrigerated since they no longer have the "bloom" barrier to bacteria.
Yes, I get that. Not sure you understood though. Most of my eggs do not need to be washed. But virtually all of the ones I get from the other lady definitely do. I just won't wash them until the day before they go out the door. And then they will be kept in a cooler until they go to the customers.

Ah, then the other lady isn't practicing proper animal husbandry. I've read that it is illegal to wash eggs before sale in some European countries. The reasoning is that the "farmer" will keep the birds in a clean environment if they can't hide the evidence of their poor practices.
I keep my babies clean but on occasion some clumsy little one drops their poo on the egg. It's rare but it happens

She's old.

I've never sold an egg I've given too my friends and we all eat the rest between us
This lady gave me twelve dozen eggs last week, lol. I don't have THAT many friends! 😆 Another lady takes them and sells them around her retirement center. The money goes to my church, where it ultimately goes to pay to build wells in African villages.
