Okay, @R2elk , how do you feel about blackberries in a rhubarb pie? I am currently aware of blackberries growing in two places, and I cannot remember if I ever even knew about the main location.
Blackberries deserve their own pie but pair very well with peaches in a cobbler.

I haven't tried but have seen it claimed that apples go well in a rhubarb pie. I would cube the apples rather than slice them if I was going to try it.

I saw a lot of recipes that have rhubarb and blackberries paired with raspberries, and one cobbler that adds apples. I think more than two fruits, once baked, hides the individual flavors.
Tell us how the apple turns out.

I don't have any apples. My plain rhubarb pie was delicious. I can't grow raspberries or blackberries here. I do miss the dewberries and the huckleberries. The trouble with the huckleberries was that it took so many of those tiny little things to make a pie.

Talk about different pairings, my mother would mix peaches and apples in the same pie. Not a good pairing in my opinion.
