Baking powder can go bad. Baking soda needs acid in the recipe. Also, Baking soda begins reacting as soon as it hits acid so the batter needs to go into the oven promptly. My recent banana bread was a failure,,,, Not sure what I did wrong,,,but the devl.
did not rise any???? I know I added all the necessary ingredients. (baking powder, and soda)

Straining regular yogurt through a filter to drain off the whey is how I make Greek yogurt! This is called quark? As a german, a few tipps, usually, the crust is much thinner compared to the filling, and we also put the crust up the sides of the pan, and while we lived in Canada we used to just put regular yogurt into a coffee filter and let the liquid drip away for a few hours, what was left was a good quark substitute
Ron.... You are a wizard.so the batter needs to go into the oven promptly.
I made fried rice for lunch yesterday witn (cough cough) store bought eggs. I have 2, maybe 3, hens laying, but only sporadically.
The "cheap store brand" eggs that were at one point $5/dozen? Back down to $1.09/doz. That bubble has well and truly burst, at least for now.
No, you use fat reduced milk together with certain milk bacteria and a bit of rennet to thicken it, but it is the best substitute, in my opinionStraining regular yogurt through a filter to drain off the whey is how I make Greek yogurt! This is called quark?
