Guys, I really need advice.

I know this is off-topic, but I really need some help. My grandfather‘s dementia is getting very bad. We are several steps into the process of getting him into a memory care facility, but we are not fully there yet.

Anyway, he was unable to figure out how to get onto the Internet and get to his email. Later on, he came out of his room in a full panic, saying “I can’t find my wife.“ We went in there and found his wife, right where he left her on the toilet. For reference, my grandmother is very immobile. She needs help moving around. My grandpa helps her.

So, to sum up what happened, my grandfather forgot that he helped my grandmother to the toilet. When he couldn’t find her, he entered a full panic. He also forgot how to get onto AOL and his email.

Here’s where I need help. We are already several steps into the process of getting him into memory care, but until we can get him in there, how do I emotionally manage this? How do I deal with his dementia?

It’s just so hard to watch, and I am at a loss of what to do emotionally.

Could someone please give me some advice?

That is a sad situation!

Is there a support group you can find? If not in person, then there should be some online groups.

I did not know. Sorry. I would not like that. I like the change of Seasons. But this year has been different. We must take
what is there. ha ha. Aria
We have not had as much rain this year, but the snow pack on the Sierras is normal for this time of year.

Jared, Please do not worry about anything; instead, PRAY about
everything, Tell God what you need, and THANK HIM for all he
has done. Jared, this is part of what MAY happen in old age.
Unfortunately a very sad situation. Pray and just do your best,
that is all YOU can do. Try to find a group as Ron suggested.
They may help. When YOU can't control what is happening, You can control how YOU respond to it. I know how you feel.
