Any Home Bakers Here?

Yes, it's brown parchment. I buy 1,000 sheets at a time. I don't know if I told you all I am the chef (fancy word for cook) of a Christian retreat center. Here's me with my MEGA mixer!

I'll take a picture of my Snickerdoodle recipe and post it soon. What makes mine secret and sets it a part from others is that I add cinnamon right in the batter where most recipes only roll them in cinnamon sugar. It was an accident one day that turned out good! The other difference is my recipe doesn't use cream of tartar like all other recipes. It's an expensive ingredient that I replaced with a combination of baking powder and soda. My recipe is for 215 cookies! You'll have to scale it down for home.

I put cinnamon in my snicker doodles also

I agree that as a fad "diet" it is silly, but let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater and say "ONLY if you have Celiac disease."

There are other valid medical issues... My daughter, age 10, has Crohn's Disease, and also cannot tolerate gluten. For instance.

Of course, A real medical reason for it. I have not heard that Gluten was bad for Chron's Disease. I have only known one person that had it. I know of a couple with Celiac Disease. The main point is that removing Gluten helps a very small percentage of people with a diagnosed medical condition. It does not help others and can be very nutritionally dangerous--especially for children.

I am sorry about the Crohn's Disease!

Yes, the people that "fad" jumped on to it totally wasted their time and money. On the plus side it got better things on the market for people that actually need it! (And quality improved too.)

BUT...my own personal non Doctor opinion is that wheat or gluten is not the evil...hybridization is the evil and that is what has wrecked our wheat!

My education of what american foods really are continues..... and now I know what a snickerdoodle is. Thanks! And they look delicious.

Thanks for the recipe - will have to do some math to reduce the quantity :) I did surf and find one quite similar - but like the idea of mixing in the cinnamon much better

Not that I'm lazy or anything (too lazy to probably ever get around to making them, even though I'd like to), but could you post the recipe for a smaller quantity if you figure it out? Thanks.
