Any Home Bakers Here?

The bread dome worked great!

The bottom is lightly oiled and then corn meal is sprinkled on

The dome top goes into the oven to warm up for 20 minutes at 425 while the dough raises.

The top is slashed and then the bottom goes into the oven and the top goes on

Baked for 30 minutes and then the top comes off. Bread continues to bake until golden brown. That was about 5 minutes for me.

Yum!

Good looking bread Ron! I've seen bakers like that offered from KAF but haven't ever used one. Pretty cool!

I had a different one on my Amazon wishlist for a year or so. This one was a Birthday present and picked instead of the other one because it has a deeper dish and taller dome so that you can bake roasts and other things with it.

I am baking a pot roast in it tonight. It will go into the oven at 3:30 and is supposed to take about 1.5 hours to cook.

I am looking forward to seeing how it works with the roast since the bread was a success.

Hope you'll share your pot roast experiment with the baker (betting it will be good).

Do report on the pot roast.

Last year we got a Dutch Oven after all the discussions here, and now we only use it for ours - brown stove top and then to the oven. So tasty and tender.

Now you got me craving a pot roast.

And your bread is beautiful, wish we could taste on this thread and not just wish we could.

Too funny, I ended up with a Dutch Oven too. And love it!

I use the dutch oven all the time too and I will still use it.

I used my dutch oven yesterday to make pulled pork. I have not made it this way in quite a while and had forgotten how good pulled pork is cooked like this.

I bought a Dutch oven to bake in. I have a baking stone now, so I don't use it for baking, but it sure gets used for a lot of other things.
This was my favorite recipe - so many variations! - until I started using the sourdough method. I don't use commercial yeast anymore.
