I've never been able to make decent brownies...until today! This recipe is the best, chocolatey, rich, wonderful brownies, even without frosting:

I did use the espresso powder and think it really added a richer chocolate taste. Man, I'll never have to buy a mix for brownies again!

The only thing that would make it better was a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup :drool
That is close to the brownie recipe I have been making for years:

Brownies

2 stick Butter or Margarine

1½ cup Flour

2 cups Sugar

½ teaspoon Salt

2 teaspoon Vanilla

¾ cup Cocoa

4 Eggs

1 teaspoon Baking Powder

3 Tbs. Dark Cocoa (opt.)

Preheat oven to 350°. Cream butter with sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture. Spoon into a greased 9”x 13” x 2” pan and bake 30-35 minutes until brownies just begin to pull from sides of pan. Cool to room temperature upright in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares and serve.

Reduce temperature by 25° for a glass pan.

Give it a try penny, it was very easy. It all gets mixed up in one bowl! Easy and delicious, who could ask for more (other than 2nd's maybe).
N F C...I like King Arthur Flour...but this recipe has TOO MUCH SUGAR for me 2 cups. EEK. I watch health and try NOT to eat too much sugar. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Aria
