Any Home Bakers Here?

Tomorrow we're going to have Black beans and rice. Again a Peruvian recipe but cooked with ham hocks and smoked jowl cut into bite sized pieces. After that we'll have to pick another nationality to pick on. Having lived around the world, I have plenty to pick-on

I love Cuban black beans & rice, never had Peruvian. Looking forward to seeing what you all you do!
 
I think y'all will appreciate this story. I was staying in a German guest house. Restaurant was closed on Wednesdays, but my family was invited to have family dinner with the staff. I told the chef that he cooks six days a week and was entitled to a day off. I would cook on Wednesdays. What do you like? Crazy as it sounds, they wanted Chinese and Thai. So I found myself teaching the chef how to cook those dishes, and in tern he would teach me how to make my favorite recipes that he made.

Fun story! So now there's a guy in Germany cooking Chinese & Thai dishes that were taught to him by an American guy.
