I think having a pasta attachment for the stand mixer would be a fun thing to play with. But then I think a lot of kitchen gadgets are fun to play with![]()
I have that attachment. I was amazed at how easy to use it was. But in the 3 years I have owned it I used it all of 1 time..... Maybe someday
Some stores here have a section with special stuff. Usually here it is Bobs RedMill and they have a semolina flour. It is not with regular flour and our Walmart Neighborhood store carries it.There's a really good looking pasta recipe on here:
shortgrass's - Homemade Pasta - post #2378
I'd like to try that one, it has basil in it (we grow a lot of that). One problem though, I've checked 3 stores in the area, and no one carries semolina flour. Guess it doesn't much matter at the moment since I don't have the attachment. But some day I'll get a chance to try it!

Also, sometimes you can find stuff like that in the bulk section of stores--Like Whole Foods and etc.
Do you have an organic store or a co op close by?
Yes!Two of the stores carry Bobs Red Mill products but not the semolina flour. I've also checked at Walmart with the regular baking stuff and they didn't have it...maybe it's in a different section of the store (there's no point in asking anyone that works there, they know nothing about anything I've asked about before). Nothing like a Whole Foods around here but there might be an organic store, I'll have to look that up. With stores so far away from home, it might be easier just to order some online.
