Bisquick can be used to make pancakes, biscuits, coffee cakes, waffles, etc. It's kind of a base mix (flour, baking powder, and some other dry ingredients) that you just add a few other thing to make what you want.

I know i just like mising my own flour and stuff i rarely have bisquick as i mix everything else myself bisquits so far have yet to work other wise for me could be the recipe i was using.

Hey @wyoDreamer looks like you'll be getting your 5 year badge pretty soon!

I used to make scratch biscuits a lonnnnnngggg time ago. I can't find my recipe right now but it involved buttermilk and lots of butter. I'll keep looking @Jesusfreak101 .

Here you go!

Buttermilk Biscuits

Prep Time: 30 min
Inactive Prep Time: --
Cook Time: 25 min
Level: Easy
Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoons baking soda
  • ½ cup vegetable Shortening, Butter or Lard, cold, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • ¾ to 1 cups buttermilk, plus additional for brushing
Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Cut in the shortening using a pastry blender or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in the center and add ½ cup buttermilk. Using your hands, quickly fold the dry ingredients into the buttermilk until a sticky dough forms. You may need to add more buttermilk.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Gently fold the dough over itself 3 or 4 times to create layers. Press the dough out to 1 1/2-inches thick and cut with a floured 3-inch biscuit cutter. Lay the biscuits on an ungreased cookie sheet and brush the tops with buttermilk. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until risen and golden brown.

There's a really good looking pasta recipe on here:

I'd like to try that one, it has basil in it (we grow a lot of that). One problem though, I've checked 3 stores in the area, and no one carries semolina flour. Guess it doesn't much matter at the moment since I don't have the attachment. But some day I'll get a chance to try it!

Some stores here have a section with special stuff. Usually here it is Bobs RedMill and they have a semolina flour.  It is not with regular flour and our Walmart Neighborhood store carries it.

Also, sometimes you can find stuff like that in the bulk section of stores--Like Whole Foods and etc.

Do you have an organic store or a co op close by?

Yep, Bobs Red Mill is permanently in my cupboard in one form or another lol

And yes, I had to get Semolina flour online lol ;)

But I've made it with just regular white flour, whole wheat, and tried it with millet flour once... Don't waste your time with millet flour lol, but any ol flour will work :)

Egg noodles areuch easier, IMO. I can just roll that our in the counter and hand cut dumplings, and not have to get the roller/cutter out ;)

Making me hungry for some chicken and noodles; all I have in the deep freeze is some banties though lol :D
