Any Home Bakers Here?

I killed and slaughtered a turkey for thanksgiving once. Swore I'd never to that again...could have done a brake job in the same amount of time and bought two butterballs. My wife reminds me of that every time I suggest we raised our own Turkey's.
Now that I'm older and time seems to matter less I might raise a few.

Take my advice, listen to your wife. Always. On any subject.

..... it's PHIL if I knew how to fix my name I would.

LOL, I get a chuckle every time I see someone address you as Phi.

You can get your name changed once per BYC lifetime.

I should change mine--Some think it is Ronotti - Not Ron Ott numeral one.

I even have my first name in the signature.

The will sometimes get the Gender wrong too....

Ronotti sounds like a pasta to me. Maybe I have you confused with Ronzoni?

Every so often I get referred to as KFC instead of NFC.

Hey KFC.....if I always listened to my wife life would be boring.(as in no ducks...no ducks= no BYC)....I listen when it counts though.

LOL I see what you did Phi!

Well, as long as you listen when it counts that's the important thing.

Ron, your name post reminded me of a woman I worked with for several years. Her name is Roni. She had so much trouble with people pronouncing it wrong (like in maca-roni) or assuming by her name she was a guy. Roni always swore if she had a daughter some day, she would never name her something different like her name. Fast forward a few years, she gets married and has a baby girl. What did she name her daughter? Ryan.

People are so funny.

Haha! X2! That's pretty funny! I'm a fan of "normal" names that are spelled correct. Not very common where I live. I brought the baby name book to the hospital with us to make sure, incase we had a boy, the name would be spelled right. We only had a girls name picked out and I had it written down in my hospital bag to make sure it was spelled right

. Then we had a boy, so good thing I had the book with me. My husband and I both have old, normal names, we have a cat and dog with old, normal names, so we had to make sure our kid fit the trend! Lol. We ended up naming him Gabriel.

I have an unusual name, Gwynne pronounced Gwen. It is actually just a really old Welsh spelling, but it is rarely used. I do not even correct people who spell it wrong, and it is amusing when people pronounce it wrong. I made sure my girls have very common names, not in fashion, but common.

On the subject of names being pronounced wrong, I have two funny stories. First, I have to point out my name is Alice, pretty easy right? I get people all the time saying "Alex" or "Alison" so usually I tell them "Alice, like in wonderland". Then they say "oh, Alice."

When I was in 5th grade, during role call my teacher called me Alison, I corrected him and said "my name is Alice". He said "you go by Alice, your real name is Alison". I told him to look on the attendance sheet, my name is Alice. He proceeded to tell me that parents can just write nick names, my real name WAS Alison. I told him both my grandmas names are Alice and that was my name. When my mom came to pick me up he told her how I was a liar and I argued with him and said my name isn't Alison, it's Alice. My mom responded "yah, that's because her name is Alice! Both her grandmas are named Alice."

I had the same incident with a manager once. She called me Alison a few times, one of the times we were in the office alone and I said "my name is Alice, not Alison" and she told me "yah, I don't like using nick names". I told her good, then you will call me Alice, because that's my full name! Keep in mind, this woman's full name was Bobbie! Those are my name stories.
