Any Home Bakers Here?

Thats true, the one place i really like going makes everything from stratch. So all their food is so good!! I much whether cook from stratch unless we going there then i am all for going out lol but any place that cost 30$ for all three of us to eat my husband not a fan of lol he likes cheap.

Oh I disagree, Greek food has tons of flavor. Feta cheese ans olive oil is good, but the bitter of a grape leaf, the yummy meat they rotisserie, the tomatoes and onions, lemon juice, and then finish it off with a good wine.

Good Greek food is flavorful, you're right. I was referring to the bland stuff the lady at the farmer's market made and sold (and had lines of people waiting for). Whether her food included grape leaves or phyllo dough or tomatoes, no matter what, it was all tasteless.

@NorthFLChick

Sorry the recipe turned out bland.

It is surprising that a recipe sounds great but we find it needs some "punch".  Even those you find online that get 5 stars in reviews.

But, we have several Mexican Restaurants here and IMO the menu items are bland, even for a chain store that used to have great food.

I got some peppers for you....spice things up...lol

That's ok Phil. We have plenty of peppers...chipotle, ancho, ghost, jalapeno a couple others I can't remember the name for right now. Next time I make the enchiladas, I'll be using some of them!

All this talk about enchiladas, I made some on Saturday from left over turkey, added some spices cumin, coriander, chili & paprika they turned out good. I like my food spicy and with a kick but i didn't have any fresh peppers available. Hubby and nephew loved them.

quite a variety of peppers you have there. planning to plant some come spring. this year mine was eaten by some worm or bug, I had them close to tomatoes.

I'm on a pepper kick this morning....cuz I'm making chili tomorrow!!!!!

Aaaaahhhh...chili! I need to have a serious sit-down talk with DH. He hasn't made chili for a long time. He needs to fix up some of that pot of goodness!

DH and I used to have a tea & spice store and we're still using up some of our store inventory, like the peppers. They're dried whole and some are crushed. We also got a package of Datil peppers from someone in this area but I haven't tried them yet. That's a popular one for gardens around here.

Our peppers in the garden did not do well this past summer either, not even the Bell's. On the other hand, our tomatoes did great (which they never have before). Gardening, go figure.
