DH and I used to have a tea & spice store and we're still using up some of our store inventory, like the peppers. They're dried whole and some are crushed. We also got a package of Datil peppers from someone in this area but I haven't tried them yet. That's a popular one for gardens around here.

Our peppers in the garden did not do well this past summer either, not even the Bell's. On the other hand, our tomatoes did great (which they never have before). Gardening, go figure.

My tomatoes did great too, made sphaggeti sauce and also froze whole and diced ones all from 4-5 tomato plants. Will be planting the peppers in a differentpatch next year.

Would love to if only I was closer!!! and the egg plants too. Lol my egg plant didn't do well last year so I didn't plant any this year.

I am still surpised they didnt die. Lol i am unable to deweed right now and they still are going strong. Next year i am putting up a fence. I had tomatoes and they were producing great same with everything else and then the chickens firgured out they could eat the fruit along with the bugs and i had none left.

I am so jealous, we had a horrible year for peppers ( except hot peppers ) and our eggplants were pathetic. But we had a really hot summer, too hot even for those


Interesting to me that whenever someone comments on a blah or bland recipe, it seems all join in on needing more "hot". But IMO we are missing basic flavors somehow. Personally I like a lot of flavor, but don't like really hot/spicy foods.

I like bold more the spicy. I do enjoy spicy but i really have to be in the mood for it. I tried to kill the plants lol they just wont die. My two year old breaks of branches and picks and throw the peppers and they justs keep coming. I cant freeze any more and honestly i am thenonly one who eats pepper in this house and i cant eat that many. I am going to make hot sauce again but out side of that i at a lose on what to do with them.

I had a good year for everything....I had 35 tomato plants and just as many peppers.we got 200lbs of potatoes. My garden is too big for the two of us.

With the way my tomatoe plants over produced i am terrified of how many tomatoe plants you had. I wish i could grow root veggies but we have way to much clay. I have to build a potato and carrot box to grow them in.

We canned a lot....wife canned 50 jars of carrots. I just get crazy with seed catalogs.

Lol thats ok i do as well. I start mine in a small green house its probably the only reason i dont go hog wild. I dont have a compost bin or pile yet so i have to buy my soil for my seeds and hubby only allows so much lol. Other wise i would have to expand my aready huge garden. He keeps teasing me saying he plow two acres for me to plant i might take him up on it one day lol.

I've just always had a big garden...my family used to be five now it's two...same garden. AND I seem to keep making it bigger every year.
