Sorry for being so late to get back with you. I had light brown sugar on hand so that's what went into the cookies.

Sure Chris...shipping charges paid upon delivery, right?

What the heck is an Englishman doing in Nairobi anyway?
[/owe cookies look like they are worth the shipping charges ;)

As for what's an Englishman doing in Nairobi - I ask myself the same question sometimes! I'll pm you with details if you wish (not that it's intriguing, I assure you).

Cheers
Chris

X2 - sure missed a lot going on around here.

@NorthFLChick those cookies look awesome, and I agree, better without nuts.

@ronott1 thanks for the cookie "experiment" pics and link - everyone has their own preference on what is the best texture and this is a great resource to adapt recipes to suit everyone.

@tjo804 Those pics are priceless. But can't help to wonder if the colors will result in being pecked or maybe just ridiculed a bit?

, if you do make one, please show it off.

That looks so good!! Mine never turn out like that...can't wait to try this recipe. Do you have to use unsalted butter or can you cut back on the salt and use regular butter instead?

I suppose you could use regular (salted) butter instead but I'm not sure how much you would need to reduce from the salt in the recipe.

According to the 2 sites I just looked up, the amount of salt in salted butter varies depending on brand so that can make it a bit tricky to figure out how much to cut back. Here is one of the sources:

I noticed the other day we were getting close to this number of posts and then missed doing this:

That's a lot of kitchen chat since Aug. 2014, 5,000+!

Thanks NorthFLChick...I will give it a whirl
