Any Home Bakers Here?

I think it was all the banana blueberry bread talk and pictures that made me think of the pancakes. No bananas but I still have a small stash of the blueberries we picked last year in the freezer.

Hope you don't get much snow. The wind was blowing so much here this morning, the girls went out into their covered run and came right back inside the coop. Little chickeny chickens, lol. I threw a couple handfuls of BOSS on their hay floor and left them happily pecking and scratching.

No accumulation, and temps will prevent anything fun. LOL. But winds with gusts up to 35 expected. Will keep the flock in their protected coop/run today - too many trees around the "playground" to risk fun in the compost pile.

Will have to try the pancakes soon, still have loads of blueberries in the freezer.

Guess I'm showing my age (again) never heard of it, so had to google ...does it bounce?

Thanks, but had no real doubts since Ron gave it a thumbs up.  I would highly recommend the recipe.

when i made the b-b bread, wasn't sure about measuring the brown sugar....since it just listed 3/4 cup, I loosely packed it.  Do you tightly pack it or loosely pack it?   More brown sugar would not have hurt.   Funny, but it tastes so, so healthy :)  Much better than the packaged blueberry muffin mix I made with extra blueberries.  This is so, so much better.

I always assume if it calls for brown sugar it's packed....I may be wrong though

I have been looking for recipes that use flax seeds, most I have found are muffins.

Did y'all know that flax seed lowers the risk of ovarian cancer?  The studies showing this are with chickens - they have a high rate of ovarian cancers - and flax seed in their feed significantly reduces the incidence.  And current research on human ovarian cancer prevention and treatments are coming from poultry studies!   But if you research flax seed there is a warning about not eating too much, haven't figured out how much is beneficial..yet.:)

I did not know that. Flax is great on salads, whole, and cooked cereals, they say to grind it a bit first. I use it In my breads, I like to roll them in spelt, flax, and oatmeal right before I let it rise. Makes them look nicer and I like the taste.

I forgot to mention...with the pancakes, we find 1/2 of the recipe is plenty for the two of us. And that usually leaves a couple for the chickens to enjoy (minus the syrup)

I just made some brownie bites and cinnamon rolls....this is all that is left of 56 brownie bites. I tried a new cinnamon roll recipe and I think I killed the yeast or added too much flour as they are very heavy and hardly rose....not sure if I will waste my time frosting them.
