Any Home Bakers Here?

Greeting all, it was suggested that I stop by this thread and check ya'all out! :frow. I am a self taught homemade meal creator. I don't consider myself a chef and I am far from a baker. I like to say I dabble in cooking and baking. I have a lot to learn, I am about good homemade foods that are either grown by us or the freshest ingredients morphed into sustenance for me and mine. Recently made a smoked butternut squash soup and was asked to share. I will post the pictures and then follow up with the recipe, gotta find it. I continually change my recipes and tweek them often so I have to find the latest one that I tried and tell you what I liked and didn't.

Welcome, glad you joined this thread. Have never cooked or even tasted butternut squash and look forward to the recipe. I have tried pumpkin soup twice and mine was awful.

Love the Grilling photo with members of the flock tending the grill

I am super jealous, my hens can't roam with our predator density.

If you haven't explored the thread, there's an index of recipes on the first page.

@COChix so nice to see you here! Your soup looks wonderful

Are those pine nuts sprinkled on top? Looking forward to seeing your recipe (and any others you'd like to share).

Been off the computer for a while - wow, I missed a lot!

One idea for the rhubarb is "Sunshine Rhubarb Juice". I will dig out the recipe and post it later - I had extra rhubarb and saw this recipe in my Ball Blue Book of Canning and just had to try it out. It is a concentrated rhubarb and citrus juice that is waterbath canned. My mom loves it, I will have to make a batch just for her next year. She likes it with diet sprite, I like it in lemonaid with rum.

The cinnamon rolls look delicious, and the heart shaped cake is beautiful! You can use the heat shaped pans for individual cakes, or only use 4 and make two 2-layer cakes...

for a heart shaped cake without a heart shaped pan, make a 8" square cake and a 8" round cake. Cut the round in 1/2 and place each 1/2 up against ajoining sides of the square cake - voila! a heart shape.

Glad to hear the baby is doing better.

There was more, but I don't remember now...
