Any Home Bakers Here?

Well everybody...go bake your Snicks and report back here what you did and how they turned out! I know you all will love them!

Might have to save that one for tomorrow. Already in the middle of Vegemite scrolls, bread rolls and hot cross buns here. Had nothing for the kids lunch today so thought I'd have a baking day. Surprised to realise my breadmaker takes a good half hour longer to make dough than if I do it in my mixer with the dough hook. Put the hot cross buns on in it first yet my buns by hand still started their second rise 33 minutes before they are due to come out of the bread maker on dough cycle.

My hubby is trying to change his eating habits. Anything that requires any kind of oil or butter for whatever, he is now using the coconut oil or coconut butter. The night before last it was Mac-n-Cheese with coconut butter instead of real butter. Hubby thought it was wonderful, I thought,ok. I would have preferred butter.

We don't use butter here as it causes too many upset tummies but have never tried the coconut oil or butter. I just use healthy oils like canola or olive oil or a butter substitute. Over here the coconut oil is the latest trend so it's sooooo expensive!

well here it is thoughts?
So cute!
Glad she had a wonderful day

Healthier than what?  Motor oil?     I can feel my arteries hardening just thinking about it.  I love butter, I like chips, but I don't kid myself that guzzling fat is healthy, the only think is not to gobble too much of it overall.  Ah well, que sera, sera

Agreed. I suppose if you compared it to Margarine it might come out favorably....but really what doesnt. Personally i like butter myself for eating and baking. I do use margarine or oil for frying. But i have a bad gall bladder, so i do not like too many greasy foods.
