cmom, sorry about the well problems. No water is a major pain! Hope it all works out soon.

Thanks. It really is a mystery.

Everything seems to be in order. We have changed everything, new pump, some new pipe, new wire to the pump, new control box, new pressure regulator and new pressure regulator valve so keep the water pressure steady so the well motor won't go on and off so much.

Ugh, not only an inconvenience, but expensive too.

btw...I like your new avatar!

I like your avatars too. How is the move going?

The move feels like a never-ending saga, lol. I've packed up a lot of what's here and now I'm concerned if it will all fit in the largest trailer my little car can pull. My oldest son will be here around mid-week to help me wrap things up (seeing him is the best part of all this work). I hope to be able to hit the road around May 16th or 17th.

Thanks for asking cmom!

We got the well working. I couldn't sleep last night and was up researching about well with cycle stop valves as that was the only new thing we added to it. I told my husband I thought the cycle stop valve was in backwards and he swore it wasn't. It has a collar on it and he took it off before installing it. When he put the collar on he put it on backwards so the arrow on the collar was facing the direction the flow was supposed to be except he put the collar on backwards. The valve did get blown out so it has to be replaced but at least the water is on and working. Time for some laundry.

So sorry about the interruption in your water, glad your water is back on. And that you have the problem figured out.

We had a horrific flooding in my area in 1994 which ruined the cities water treatment plant - the entire town was without water for months. DH and I lucked out by having just moved to a location with a working well and never suffered like my family in the city area.

Hope the new valve is not a high cost item.

Not a lot of time for Baking here lately, but did make a blueberry muffin loaf sweet bread ( yes, still using up those from my freezer). Cheated and used a muffin mix and added real blueberries

I wouldn't advise folks to eat as much blueberries as DH and I have lately - my dental hygienist will be horrified at those bb stains on my teeth..

Hey, we're supposed to eat plenty of fruits & veggies. You're just doing your part to keep the hygienist employed!
