Any Home Bakers Here?

Does anyone have a smoker/bbq recipe book they would recommend? There are so many of them available online, it's hard to narrow it down. DH and I want to offer smoked & bbq food at the golf course restaurant this summer and we need to practice some first.
Give me about 20 minutes and I post what i have, great book great recipes ...We grill and smoke all the time. Lots of times we just make our own.

How much you gonna smoke?

I have a very good recipe for BBQ pork ribs but it involves a pressure cooker. You can get smoked ribs out very quickly and you do not need a smoker. Is that a paradox?

Not much for smoking recipes, but if you want to grill food our favorite is George Hirsch. I don't like his new "Lifestyle" brand so much, but his original cookbooks are fantastic. We have 4 of his cookbooks. We like that they are more than just meat grilling recipes, they are complete menus. My husband is famous for the Grilled Chocolate Cupcakes. I use the pizza crust recipe all the time - and I didn't need to change it for high altitude cooking either, lol! He has pies, cakes, grilled fruit, sides and appetizers - everything to make a wonderfully delicious meal.

Here is a link to his first one - available on his site.

HOw long have you been running a golf course restaurant?

Very interesting! I've never heard of it before!
I haven't, but it sounds tasty.

I actually baked in quite a while, I've been missing it!

It is very tasty! I also haven't baked in a while. I could really go for some banana bread, but I kinda think bananas are needed for that and we don't have any.

I did a quick search online for his cookbooks and EBAY has a listing that has 2 of his cookbooks listed for $9.74 with $4 shipping. Condition listed as Good. These are probably our two favorites of his.
Gather 'Round the Grill and Adventures in Grilling are the two titles.

We also have the BAR-B-QUE Bible, which DH likes and never uses ... I think it has some smoking recipes, but I am not sure on that one.

We didn't grill much in WY because the constant wind made it too hard to keep a consistant fire temp and the high altitude made it harder to get the charcoal going and burning good - DH's excuses, not mine. We haven't gotten the grill cleaned, re-adjusted for WI elevation and set up since moving back to WI. We have been using it occasionally on the front porch, but I put a stop to that because it is 3-season porch with windows and the smoke & cooking fumes always end up filling the house instead of going outside.

We'll be smoking/bbq'ing for the restaurant at the golf course so we'll be doing lots of brisket, ribs, pork butt, chicken, etc. For ease in preparation, I'll be making side dishes of mounds of potato salad, coleslaw and baked beans.

I'll check out the books you all mention.

Thanks everyone!

We have an electric smoker, and we love it! Smoked anything exactly the way a regular one does
