Any Home Bakers Here?

So here we are, the day before Thanksgiving...what's everyone working on today?

I need to get a pumpkin pie made and maybe something else (not sure).

I might actualy need some coffee this morning too. I don't normally drink it but that glass of soda I had last night kept me up half the night lol.

Once I'm awake, I have to run to the store and grab the stuff for green bean casserole and Lemon lush. We provided the turkey so we're only asked to bring the beans and a desert. Dad specifically wants the lemon Lush lol.

Oh, lemon lush is a dessert? From the name, I thought it was some kind of alcoholic drink! Lol

Ok @Auroradream26 I guess you'll now have to tell us what exactly is Lemon Lush, lol. I've never heard of it.

I just looked up the recipe bit it seems that our version is different than the Internet version. It's just a lemon layer dish.

1st layer
1 sick butter
1 cup four
1 cup chopped walnuts

Form in to a crust in a 9 x 13 glass dish
Bake at 350° for 15 minutes
Let cool

2nd layer
1 8oz cream cheese
1 cup cool whip
1 cup powdered sugar

Whip together and spread on cool crust

3rd layer
2 small packs instant lemon pudding
3 cups milk

Mix pudding mix and milk and pour/spread on top of cream cheese layer. Allow to set.

Spread cool whip over the pudding layer and garnish with chopped walnuts. Chill and enjoy!

It's a family favorite :) I'll try to remember to take a picture later, after I make it.

Sounds good! This time of year the old family favorites are the best :D

I have the one Ma left me it is cast iron with porcelain over that I would trade it to have another day with her
I know that feeling, I use my Grams Revere Wear just about everyday and wish that I was back in the kitchen with her. She taught me so much, like jams, jellies, bread & butter pickles, cakes, pies, and most of all unconditional love. Of all the things to be Thankful for she is by far the greatest!
