Any Home Bakers Here?

Anyone ever make popovers? After years of remembering them from my mom, I started making them last week. They are super easy, light and super delicious.

1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
2 eggs

Add all ingredients together, and beat until blended.

Heavily butter baking cups, and fill 1/2 full.

Bake in preheated 400F degree oven or 35-40 minuets, or until desired crispness. Upon removing from oven prick tops to let steam escape. Serve immediately (with lots of butter on every bite is my personal preference).

Hi everyone

I absolutely adore baking but sadly rarely do it anymore.

Currently I live totally off grid with no water so cleaning up after baking is quite the chore. I don't have an oven and am just now starting to get comfortable baking in my bbq. My biggest obstacle is that there's only 2 of us so a lot of what I bake goes stale. My chickens and pigs enjoy the stale bread from time to time.

I'm sure that if I hang around in here much I'll get inspired again :)

P.s. thanks for the index NFC. That's an inspiration to cook in and of itself.

Hi Michelle, so nice to see you here!

The index is sadly out of date but it's something to start with anyway.

Cooking on the grill? Bet you could give us some tips on how you do that!

Hang out with us and enjoy!

I'm discovering that it's really quite easy. I have 5 burners. If I turn on the 2 outside burners on full the temp will get up to 400. Just fiddle the flame a bit to get the right temp then set what you're bakingin the centre. Usually you have to shave a few minutes off of the baking time.

I'm impressed with the baking, never tried to do mine in anything other than an oven. :thumbsup
