So are you telling me it is not like greek yogurt
The yogurt I make is not like Greek yogurt. I can also change how sour it is by the amount of time I let it culture. I also use whole milk which adds to the flavor. Adding a bit honey, jelly or cinnamon sugar is very tasty too.

If I culture overnight, it winds up being lactose free too...but more sour
 
My understanding is that "greek" yogurt is just yogurt with some of the liquid removed to make it thick. Just about every brand of yogurt has its own taste, you can really tell this when you buy the plain yogurt. I like to buy plain yogurt and flavor it when I dish it up to eat. Honey, berries, maple syrup, etc. The flavored stuff is way too sweet for me. The last tub I bought was "non-fat" (oops) and is not very good. I don't tend to like non-fat dairy stuff. One the other hand, my new Instant Pot has a yogurt setting - can't wait to try it out.
