@BullChick Is this the first time you are making yogurt?

I was going to try using yogurt I bought from the store as a starter. I like the taste of it -tangy but not too much. I will be buying whole milk from the store - it is from a local dairy though, so it is really fresh. Does yogurt made from store yogurt have the same taste as the stuff in the carton?

Any plain yogurt with live cultures can be used, will contribute to the final taste but the milk you use may alter that taste in the end.

I could not have said it better!

Yes, it is much better tasting then what you get in the store

Hello,

Had to cull a hen yesterday. She wasn’t laying, she was not letting others lay in the nesting box, and more.

She was about as big as a store-bought chicken. Carcass alone weighed 4 pounds after cleaning.

Since I’m raising chickens, I had learn how to do it sooner or later. The rest I’m going to feed meat bird feed so they can get bigger, and when February comes around, I’m going to get new chicks and butcher the rest. The laying is slowing down.

We’re having crock pot chicken tonight.
