I was going to try using yogurt I bought from the store as a starter. I like the taste of it -tangy but not too much. I will be buying whole milk from the store - it is from a local dairy though, so it is really fresh. Does yogurt made from store yogurt have the same taste as the stuff in the carton?
I could not have said it better!Any plain yogurt with live cultures can be used, will contribute to the final taste but the milk you use may alter that taste in the end.
