Amish Cookies

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Pre-heat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Set aside.

3. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together the butter, oil, and sugars on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, scraping the sides as necessary.

4. Reduce speed to medium and add the eggs, one at a time, mixing just until combined. Add the vanilla and mix until combined.

5. Reduce speed to low and add the flour in three additions, scraping down the sides as necessary.

6. Drop dough of two tablespoon each onto the baking sheet, spacing two inches apart.

7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, just until the edges begin to darken. Let cool on baking sheet.

I opened the page copied the recipe you just posted no PDF at all
You can get a pdf if you click on the print button on the page. I change the printer to save as pdf (The website with the recipe. There is usually a print button on them).

I posted these pics on the WI thread, but I think you guys would appreciate them also. this is what I have been up to: 2018_Cherries_2.jpg 2018 CherryPieFilling_1.jpg
cherry pie filling, Danish Cherry Sauce, Cherry BBQ Sauce, cherry juice and Spirited Cherries (Amaretto & Southern Comfort). I usually just do Pie filling but the rest of the recipes sounded pretty darn good. Have cherries in the freezer for a batch of Black Forest Sauce (more of a Jam than a sauce, but it is a good filling for cookies, cupcakes or between cake layers .

I finally made Lemon Bars. Not the cheesecake version because I am making a cheesecake this week.

Whoa, you have been busy! Everything looks and sounds delicious. What do you use the Spirited Cherries for? Sounds like it would be good on ice cream :D
