What is a Dutch Oven? I may or may not REALLY know.

Here's an image of a Dutch oven Aria:

The one I have is cast iron with an enameled interior. It's great for slow cooking things in the oven and I like to use it for some breads too.

eta: It's convenient because you can use it on the cook top and in the oven both. Like for stews, I'll start it on the cook top to brown meat, caramelize onions, etc. then pop the whole thing into the oven to cook for several hours.

Debby, you've started something... Aria, checkout the lodge website it's a nice place to get you going crazy. I have several like Debby's but also have the raw cast iron too. You can bake, roast, stew, fry, what ever over an open fire. While you're wandering the site, checkout the recipe section.

Nope, not me. I didn't start anything. You can't blame me, I'm innocent I tell ya!

My favorite kitchen supply store in Fort Collins has a ton of Lodge cookware. Always have to wander through that section to drool over all the great stuff :drool

Bob, I clicked on your link...did not know Lodge cookware started in TN!

That reminds me of when we had our tea & spice store in Key West. One day a woman came in, put a bunch of items on the counter and said, "just a minute, I have to go get my wallet". She went to the door and called out "honey, can you come in here please" and in walked her husband. :gig

She told me when she was shopping her husband was always referred to as her wallet.

@N F C Is your favorite kitchen store on HWY 287, out on the edge of town? because we went there alot.

I go to The Cupboard in downtown Ft. Collins every chance I get. There so much stuff to see downtown, I never make it anywhere else.

I have been to The Cupboard at time or 2, lol. Our fastest way into Ft. Collins was the back way on HWY 287, so we had to pass JAX Ranch & Home on the way into town. That place was a must-stop for us.

I've always wanted to stop in at Jax but haven't yet. So it's worth the stop?
