Any Home Bakers Here?

Okay, there has been a change of plans for my Thanksgiving dinner. I'm going to be purchasing a deep fryer, and I'm going to deep fry a turkey to go alongside my goose and the prime rib. I'll be sure to get lots of pictures.
Jared, Just passing this along for your info. We were invited for
Thanksgiving one year....and they used a deep fryer for their cooking Turkey. IT WAS THE WORST TASTING TURKEY I HAVE EVER HAD. I would check this out.

The deep fried turkey I had at my sisters was fantastic!
Guess it depends on your tastes and how it was done.
She says their secret was that they were poor and couldn't afford the peanut oil that most people use. :lau
Canola oil should work fine. It has a high smoke temperature too.

Any oil with a high smoke temp is fine for the first several uses. Trans fat takes multiple uses to be produced in oil

Does anyone have a good cranberry relish/salad recipe?

I used to have one that included the fresh cranberries and oranges but can't find it now. Need something kind of tart & sweet. And easy. Easy would be good :p
I posted this in this thread before but am too lazy to look for it. I loved it.

Cranberry Relish

1 package (12 oz.) frozen cranberries (grind while frozen)
2 red delicious apples cored
2 oranges remove seeds. (I use the peel of one (1) or you can use peel of both.
Cut apples and oranges into size that will fit into your meat grinder.
Grind all of the above into a large bowl. Mix together and add enough sugar or sugar/sucrose to taste.
(Use grinding blade for coarseness that you want).

1 cup sucralose?

Good as a side dish or on toast

Will keep in fridge for 2-3 weeks.
