Our last amber alert ended in tragedy.
It is kinda funny at my work - everyone's phone goes off when there is an alert. And you can hear the vibrating phones just as loud as the tone because they are sitting out on teh desks, lol. Our office goes off for weather alerts as well as Amber and Silver Alerts.

Amber alerts are an awful sound to wake to. If being startled doesn’t keep you awake after that, worry will.

Amber alerts are always very scary.
We had a bit of a scary situation here yesterday evening. DD's friend was saying some things about possibly harming herself. They were texting back and forth most of the evening. Thankfully, another friend's mom knows the family and was able to get in touch with the parents to let them know what was going on. It's sad that this is a concern in 6th grade! This is the second child in her grade that's had these issues. It makes no sense to me.
