So, I am attempting to make rock candy. I was going through a book of science experiments, and I found "how to make rock candy."

I tried it out, and this is the result today. There are two days left, then I can remove it from the jar.



The instructions in the book are not very clear, so I'm telling you how I did it with the books help.

The book said to dissolve 2 cups of sugar in 1/4 cup of water. This seemed very difficult at first. However, I raised the amount of water, dissolved the sugar, then I boiled it down to the right consistency where it's two cups of sugar and 1/4 cup of water.

After that, I let it sit for two to three days.

Then, it's done.

Goodness, I have not made rock candy in years. I’ve considered it, but Duckling is just too young still.

Lemons, the fruit that keeps going. Two lemons in my lemonade made a decent second batch yesterday. Today I am using the lemon juice that is left, and poured iced tea over it. I’m not crazy about lemon in my tea, but it’s a waste to toss it.

Lemons are very useful in cooking and baking!
