Nope it’s for mixing tanning solutions
I see!

Tanning with salt sounds like a good way to do it. When I was in 4-H I preserved a snake skin. It was so long ago that I do not remember all of the details but it seemed I used some type of powdered laundry soap. That was in the 1970s though and laundry soap was much harsher back then

Most likely!

It was in the Wildlife manual from 4-H

I entered it into the Tehama County Fair and it won best of show and a picture in the newspaper

It used to be an arsenic paste but that was outlawed a very long time ago.

We could likely get arsenic from the Farm Bureau back in the 70s to use as a poison. My Dad did get cyanide granules to kill bees

I did not use arsenic to tan the snake skin!

What a waste to use cyanide on bees. Bees can be very easily killed by spraying them with soapy water. It causes them to suffocate.

These were wild bees that lived in the ground. For hornets in trees, he would shoot them with a shotgun.

It was like the wild west growing up!

Soup is done, husband won’t try it. He asked if it was like the canned stuff. I said yes but this is good.
