Any Home Bakers Here?

We went there for the pie too. In fact, most of the time that is the only thing we went there for. I love their fresh strawberry and peach pies, although those came much later. They used to have the best rolled crusts. But, now I think they are pressed and just not as good. Something changed. I don't make pie, so I can't be sure what it is.
Their crust reminds me of the banquet pies and I do not like them.
Let me know if you want me to mail a start to you
How long does it take before you can bake with it?
My sourdough starter is doing much better now that I use the RO filtered tap water also.
I don't like to drink our well water, so I guess I don't blame it for turning pretty colors on me when I use the well water, lol. DH is fighting me on getting a new water softener since ours bit the dust last summer.
I would be hard to live with if we didn’t have a softener.

If you know what you are looking for and it does like the batch Ron sent me - 2 days!!! Took me over a week to get back to that point after I nearly killed it.

Most of us will be all set with eggs.
Oh yeah, came back to 7 dozen in the refrigerator. The girls are popping out over a dozen a day.

My family used to go there when I was a kid because my dad loved their dessert pies.
Marie's was originally only a pie restaurant, they added "food" later.

Got home at midnight-ish. DD2 said there was no bread at the store yesterday so I fed my sourdough starter for making some tomorrow and am taking a shot at King Arthur's Whole wheat oatmeal honey bread today. Supposed to be relatively fast, 3 hours total. The sourdough (at least what I've made) has been more like 24 hours start to finish.

It takes a couple of days to a week and it will be up to full strength

I know nothing about starters other then what is posted here. I’ve only ever made white bread. I would like to try english muffins.

Will you send me a starter Ron? It may be a flop for me but I can say I tried 😁
Ron's starter comes with EASY directions. And easy to keep well and happy. And if you do....It is a powerful starter. Works GREAT for me
every time. Love it. I always bake and eat the Sourdough Bread I make
with Ron's starter. It is the BEST. Aria

I am planning on going hunting for spring bear in April, May, or June.

I just got to find someone to go with me for safety. If I can find someone, and work out my budget, I am going for bear!
nice, i too am hoping to go for some spring bear here as well. also to note there can be really good eating, (my first and so far only bear was really good)

made a bear ham last year and my friends thought it smelled like a good pork ham.
