Any Home Bakers Here?

Happy late Threadaversary! Just realized Aug 30 this thread was 6 years old- awesome!
Anyone willing to share a good sweet potatoe casserole recipe for Thanksgiving?

It's been going a good long time now...lot of good recipes, some fun disasters and some great bakers!

New attempt at a good baguette. I looked at the starter and it was was nice and fluffy so I decided to give it a go.

That looks really promising IM!

Ron, Question? Do you vote for taking the sourdough starter and adding flour and water...let sit overnight before using? I think you would say yes....is it sponge? Aria
A lot of the good sourdough french breads will have an overnight sponge in the recipe. What I do is take the starter out of the fridge and stir in 1/4 cup of flour into it and make the sponge after it warms up and bubbles a bit. That is usually a couple of hours.

I am about to start some bread now at 3:45pm

Well this is not baked and it is, maybe a little odd but it looks so good. I have 2 brown layer Sex links and 4 azure Blues, blue layers. They’ve just started laying nicely and the eggs are getting bigger. Wife purchased some store bought eggs So I scrambled them and mixed in a bunch of beautiful egg shells to feed back to the girls.

That sounds much better. WILL DO THIS. I like the idea to "get going"
sooner. Thanks again, Aria

I like to do that for my flock once in a while too...they love it! And the shells are a good source of calcium for them.
