Jupiter and Saturn were in conjunction tonight! Same telescopic field with a 25mm eyepiece!

Picture is fuzzy due to atmospheric interference and wind. This is the best photo I got.

You can faintly see Saturns rings on the right, though!

We have been making candy today!

I made turtles and peanut brittle

If it weren’t for covid I’d be right over.

I get to make the apple pie this year. It’s beginning to be a tradition and involves 3 cubes of butter. This is a major splurge on our diet type here. I may cut back on the butter.....naw

Is the butter part of the crust or in the filling? Homemade apple pie is always a good idea!

First cube is melted in the cast iron skillet with brown sugar. Second cube of course is in the regular crust which goes on top of the melted cube and sugar. Then apples. The third cube is in the crisp topping.
This year I’m thinking I’ll pre cook the pie crust and butter sugar. These two melt together making for an incredible crust.
This is two recipes combined into one pie

This was last years. Looks like it needs more topping for this years. That’s a large skillet and needed broke in last year.
