Any Home Bakers Here?

Nice big bread recipe!
Thanks. 😊 I had never measured out the flour before. I start with the water measurement and the initial ingredients then just keep throwing flour at it until it comes together. Thank you all for motivating me to do this! ā¤

Thanks, Jared. So much to be thankful for! This year has focussed us intensely just on how MUCH we have to be grateful for, that in the past we have taken for granted. Life and health top the list, of course, and for us, intense gratitude that this pestilence has NOT taken any of our loved ones from us. Friends and family are next. Including BYC! We live very isolated anyway so in that sense, not much has changed, and for that I am grateful too: my kids are not suffering much from the isolation. Now I am going to lighten the mood a little and say how grateful I am for the simple but necessary things, like (hello!) Toilet paper! And finally, that we already had chickens. With those two things, what else do you need, right? ☺

If I may, I would like to send an invitation to everyone.

2020 has been a very long, very hard year. Many things of happened. I lost two great uncles, was unable to attend church due to area restrictions, and many more things.

However, many great things have happened also. My therapy is working, I can feel a difference. I have a roof over my head, food, a father who has a great job despite the pandemic, a loving family, and great friends here.

I would like to invite everyone to post what you are thankful for that happened in 2020.

It’s almost over, we can get through the last few days of this year.

There's always something to be grateful for, you're right about that Jared!

I'm thankful that all my family has had good health this year (including my almost 93 yr old mother). I'm very glad to finally be able to move into the house we've spent 2 long years renovating. And I'm thankful for the friendships I've made here on BYC!

Come one 2021, be kind to us all!

Probably the last loaf for a while. It's time to go back on to the low carb diet (sigh). I love my sourdough. I'm going to be very grumpy for a while.
