Any Home Bakers Here?

I used to make buckwheat pouches for guinea pigs to keep warm. Make a pouch fill it with the buckwheat sew it up and put it inside a fleece and wadding pouch. Maybe Aria's rice bags are like this?

Thank you for the information.

Rice pouches are usually just a fabric pouch filled with dry rice and nothing else. They are also good for keeping chicks warm in a pinch. Similar to using a hot water bottle. We use them for foster kittens if we are out of hot hands. You can make a quick one by poring rice in a sock and tying the end in a knot.

@Aria

How do you make rice bags for pain?

What do you put in them besides rice?
I use strong cotton material that will LAST. Make the shape to fit different areas of the body. I have one now that fits my knee. Stitch all around except one side. Fill only enough so you can place under machine foot and stitch closed. USE JUST
RICE. They are perfect for any pain. I have used mine for years. There is more moisture when just
made...but they still work for a long time. You can open remove old rice and add new rice...or start for the beginning. They are GREAT. You place in
Microwave to heat ...enough minutes depending on size This knee one 1 1/2 minute. Larger more time 4 5 etc. minutes. Aria

Just remember you will become like a weather station.
When I was little, I remember my Grandma saying, "My hands ache. I think we will get some rain."

I thought, how cool is that! You can tell the weather by how your hands feel! I totally missed the part about them aching.

I get it now, Grandma. I get it.

That is also the only time I ever heard anything like a complaint come from that woman.
