I have a question for my kitchen friends. The dough hook on my KitchenAid mixer inadvertently went into the dishwasher. It came out coated in this horrid dark grey powder that came off on my hands. I was able to wipe it all off with a paper towel and have also thoroughly washed it, but it is no longer shiny. Is it safe to use, or should I discard it and order a replacement?

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I have removed most of the oxidization by hand with paper towel but not inside the top, this should help!

It is fine!

Aluminum cannot go into dishwashers due to the soap causing corrosion.

I found cookie dough in the freezer I had made in January, choc. chip and nut butter. I had rolled the dough in two logs, dated the package and froze then forgot about it. Sure was nice to find on a cool day. I sliced and baked, and am eating some now

Went to my fishing spot one last time before I move. Something unbelievable happened. While reeling in a trout, a GIANT largemouth Bass showed up and tried to take it!

My dad caught it on film.

I have no energy to hand wash mine, so all of my attachments leave me grey-handed! It's perfectly fine, just a slight inconvenience.

My brother cooked dinner tonight (chicken, broccoli, and rice) and was VERY proud of himself. To be fair, it was very good. I made brownies for dessert- same recipe that I made for school last week. Turned out great! We ate everything before I could get pics.
