Any Home Bakers Here?

I love home baking, I'm learning more as I go. We always try to eat at home and we rarely go out to eat. We also try getting a lot of our ingredients from the amish communities out here, besides the eggs of course! And I can't wait to get milk goats again to have that available as well. I'm constantly trying new bread recipes and baking recipes to see what we like the best!

These are some of the cinnamon rolls I've made before, I think I made these last week or so. Right now I have dinner rolls rising for tonight! :drool

You’re welcome! Welcome to the bakers thread! As you can probably guess, I am one of the hunters here. I love cooking game meat.

Those cinnamon rolls look good. Do you happen to have a recipe you can post?
My husband and I enjoy hunting and harvesting our own meat as well. I love game meat and venison it my favorite.

Thank you! I will attach my recipe, although not sure if it's easy to read! Lol

I like venison too, but I don’t have it often. Reason is I have not shot a deer in a while. I’ve only shot two in my life. First one was a 2x2 whitetail deer in North Idaho, 2016, second was a 2x3 mule deer in South Idaho, 2018. Haven’t shot a deer since because of a LOT of circumstances. I did get my first black bear in 2020, though.

Now that I am done moving, maybe I’ll try deer again sometime.

I am going to try to get an elk tag next year. It’s a controlled hunt, so no guarantee I’ll get a tag. (I live in South Idaho, by the way.)

Anyway, I am rambling.

Spicy Green Tomato Salsa

Ingredients

12 ½ cups chopped green tomatoes
1 onions, chopped
4 jalapeno peppers, sliced into 1/2-inch-thick rings
1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
¼ cup raw sugar
3 tablespoons minced garlic
2 ½ tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 cup lime juice
2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Directions

Combine green tomatoes, onions, jalapeno peppers in a large bowl.

Mix cilantro, sugar, garlic, oregano, and cayenne pepper together in a small bowl.

Fill a blender with about 2 cups tomato mixture, 1 teaspoon lime juice, and 1/4 of the spice mixture; blend to desired consistency and pour into a large bowl. Repeat blending with remaining tomato mixture, lime juice, and spice mixture, working in batches, until all ingredients are blended. Stir vinegar into salsa.
