That is great Sally. GF is a tough bread to make.
I have my bread machine GF recipe down to a T. Adding a half cup starter to the regular recipe worked really well, tasted really good, and next time I think I'll add it from the "discard" jar in the fridge.

Change just one thing at a time, to see if it works.

Not active starter will take longer to rise.

Kicking myself tonight. Made this beautiful chicken pot pie. See that one-quart saucepan in the back? Guess what's in it. The gravy that's supposed to be IN the pie!!!! :barnie:he Guess we will be serving it over the pie as a sauce! Got distracted when my beautiful GirlChild walked in and started visiting with me as I was assembling the pie, lol! :lau Oh my! I had just told her I never make it the same way twice, but THIS.... This takes the cake!

Oops, forgot to add the pic. Is my prettiest pie ever, with puff pastry, little heart cutouts and everything!

I

That's understandable.

Happy Birthday @Floydie have a wonderful day 🥳 🎂

Happy Birthday @Floydie and many more to come.

Hibernation. Good way to put it.

I may continue to use my canning jars with the filter when it sits out and cap it when putting it to bed in the fridge. Unless I find those starter jars for a lot cheaper somewhere.

If it does explode in the refrigerator, I’ll be as mad as a wet hen, but the mess will at least be contained.

If you shop at Walmart you can find the square jars with the hinged top that are not too costly.

For the past year I've been learning how to bake yeast breads here at home. It's been challenging and rewarding (when it all comes together right, lol).

Today for the 1st time I made up a Boule recipe and ran into a snag. Is there anyone here that's familiar with yeast breads? Since I'm here several times a day reading about chickens, it would be great to chat with others that also bake.

Hi, I'm a soup-making enthusiast! 😋 I make Italian soups mostly Zuppa Toscana, chicken noodle soup, and I made a custom soup that I call Mexican pepper steak!
