Any Home Bakers Here?

I just bought some of the leak-proof plastic lids today. Once my starter "grows up" a little, if probably will move into the fridge. It's lost the "weird" sour smell it had when it was 3 days old. Now it smells really, really sour.

I'm going to try grinding some long grain white rice if I get the time tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it goes....

If you shop at Walmart you can find the square jars with the hinged top that are not too costly.
Watch out for those! I bought another one, and once again had the problem that when I tried to close it, the metal bail crushed the glass threads and shattered some of the glass. The metal bail just seems to be too tight, I think it is a quality control issue. I will be writing to the manufacturer.
