Any Home Bakers Here?

I got a nasty cold, so I thought I’d make sourdough considering I’ll be home for the next few days.

First, I tested my starter to see if it was ready. Both pieces floated, I know the left one san

Next I mixed the dough

Now it’s autolysing (the flour is being hydrated) before it has its bulk overnight rise.

I used some sourdough discard to make a quick-fermented feed. I mixed enough starter to soften some layer pellets, then I’m letting it sit on the counter til breakfast time tomorrow :)

I just fed my starter (in the jar above), so she’s not very bubbly.

I have dried butter beans here but I intend to do a 48 hour soak for the nutrients value.

Would anyone have a recipe? I would love to make a butter bean soup and too freeze some for another meal.

I don't have a recipe for butter bean soup.

I froze my pinto beans after they were cooked.

I weighed them out and vacuum sealed them.

They are good to have on hand for quick dinners.

I got an Instant Pot to check out some of the fantastic claims. In my opinion the benefits of an Instant Pot are exaggerated. I gave it away.

I do have a slow cooker that I really like and use. Other than that I only use the stove, oven and microwave.
Me too... My daughter has an Instant Pot and makes meals and sometimes brings some to me. I asked her as politely as I know how...NO. I do not enjoy the taste. And all things seem mushy. NOT my kind of cooking. I enjoy oven meals and my crock pot. Aria
