Any Home Bakers Here?

@ronott1 , I baked some yeast bread today, experimenting with your method of starting the yeast in warm water only, no honey or sugar, here's the result! As you can see, the bread rose beautifully! I did add honey into the dough at a later stage, for flavor. These are 1# loaves, part whole-wheat, and I have buttered the tops. Thanks for the tip!

My grandmother taught me to make bread when I was 12 and have even since, I never eat store bought bread.

I would love to learn how to do bagels as I really enjoy them also.

Baking is so easy, just throw everything together and shove in the oven. If I can't bake it I don't cook it - I do not like ' babysitting' food when cooking.

Cakes, cookies, pies, roast beast of all sorts, Baking it the best 🤗

I want to make bagels now!

There is a sourdough bagel recipe in the index that has fairly detailed instructions in it.
There is a link to the index in the first post of this thread It is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1peEcaDmtptAvZeLcrvEuD0gLksKLwQEH6LgpzmJNN4Q/edit#gid=0

In the winter, my jar of sourdough starter fell out of the fridge and shattered. I started a new starter, and one day I pulled it out to feed and start some bread dough, but it had a pinkish-orangeish hue to it. So I dumped it. It took me a few weeks to get around to starting another starter, but I believe it is finally ready to be fed and put in the fridge.

All the discard has had me making crackers, pancakes, and biscuits (no pictures, sadly). Yesterday morning, I made biscuits. We have a patch of wild strawberries in our yard, and I picked about 3 oz yesterday. I also had heavy whipping cream, so made whipped cream. My dessert last night was strawberry shortcake (crumbled biscuit, strawberries, whipped cream), and it was DELICIOUS!
