Any Home Bakers Here?

Just took 2 Loaves of Soudough Multigrain Seeded Bread out of oven.
One for me and one for neighbor. Will make same recipe tomorrow
my family visiting This weekend...will have 2 loaves for them to take
home. My Genesis Sourdough will be busy.

It was so hot the last months, I didn't do a lot of ( bread) baking, when I wanted to use my sourdough, it had turne MOLDY when I researched the web, almost everybody said toss it, but I found one website where they said if you only take a teaspoon of the not moldy looking sourdough and refesh it a few times, always just using a teaspoon of the sourdough and tossing the rest ( I usually hate doing that) you can use it again. So, I will do it. Already refreshed it 2 times, looking ( and smelling) good , I will try to use it after I have refreshed it for the 3. time

A lot of us keep a backup in the freezer for such things.

Good afternoon everyone. Haven’t posted in a while, because of a lot of things.

Deer season starts in 12 days, so I’m getting things ready. I’m also planning out what to do on opening day.

As usual, if I get a deer, I will post recipes.

Ask for the elk hunt, nothing to report yet.

I forgot to acknowledge that I’ve had my starter go wonky a few times, even fuzzy, and still kept a little to restart. Using my freezer supply means I was gagging.

Jared, I wish you lived near me. There is a button buck that is hanging around, and seems unnaturally comfortable when people are nearby. I hope he wises up, but worry about him jumping out in front of a car.

For information purposes... Pilot lites have been replaced with electronic spark ignition for stove tops, and glow type igniters for the oven, and broiler burners. Things are designed "FAIL SAFE" that means, if your igniter is broken,, there is no way to light oven with a match. The top burners are capable of being started with a match light in a power outage situation.

My preference for stoves, ovens, is GAS. I had both.

I had an igniter for the baking burner go out on my old oven. I swapped the one for the broiler until I could get a new igniter mailed to me.

I can't go a week without baking!

It is nearly impossible to kill a starter.

The same is true with yogurt.

I keep some dehydrated starter as a backup.

I had an igniter for the baking burner go out on my old oven. I swapped the one for the broiler until I could get a new igniter mailed to me.

I can't go a week without baking!

Its like a parallel universe. I had same thing happen to me also. I very rarely use the top broiler, I ordered 2 igniters,, so I wont have to swap the top one again. Double the work.
Online they are reasonable. Cash and carry from a Store,, they are triple the price. That is why I decided to swap out he igniters.

I've been lucky again and have another collection of blackberry's. I think a crumble would be good tonight, if this weather cools down
