Any Home Bakers Here?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if I can get some help from you guys. You see, I plan on having the turkey I shot on Mother’s Day. I’m trying to figure out a good menu plan for that day. However, I don’t want it to be as big as Thanksgiving.

So far, all I have is mashed potatoes, turkey, and giblet gravy. I haven’t figured out anything else.

Can someone give me some ideas of what I can make for my mother for dinner on Mother’s Day besides what I’ve already listed?

I just need ideas for sides.
A salad and a non-starchy veggie will round out the menu, Jared. What does she like? Non-starchy bc you have potatoes. Green beans? Hummm.

That’s a good idea. Maybe I’ll try some green beans or something. I’ve got plenty of time to figure it out.

By the way, I finally weighed the bird. It’s 11.8 lbs empty weight.

Jared, make your mom's favorite sides, or things you know she likes. Thinking about turkey, gravy and potatoes makes my mouth want something sweet or tart to balance out the savory flavors.

Cranberry comes to mind; my way of making it is easy-peasy, and can be made ahead. A nice salad sounds good, and it can be greens or fruit, as suits your taste. And I can always go for green beans!

What's her favorite dessert?

Oh, and dessert and bread, and you've got a feast. Something to drink.... that's it. I envy your mom, Jared. You're a wonderful son.
