Made this today.
CORN PONE
It can be made by baking, as some recipes instruct, or quickly on stove top as this recipe that a member posted

I copied the recipe, and posting a pix for easy reading.
The changes I made;
Instead of Bacon Grease, I used Butter.
I had to add a couple more tablespoons of water to get a dough like consistency.

This is how my dough looked. I just mixed everything in bowl by hand. (using spoon of course

) Then separated into 6 balls, and flattened by hand. (into patties)

Notes.
This was a side dish to my dinner today. It went well with the Chicken tenders DW made today.
This is a basic food that is very similar to Native American Fry Bread. Difference being, Corn, instead of Wheat flour.
I know Fry Bread is made using Lard. I substitute lard with butter, or olive oil in my cooking/baking.
Made this recipe for first time. Now I am already thinking of experimenting further. Will consider making something called Johnny Cake. Using Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix. Plan on making it in same style, and shapes as above Corn Pones. Always experimenting, so I may add ingredients into dough not yet determined.

And Fry Bread made on Butter is also in my plans
