Any Home Bakers Here?

Tis the season to bake cookies fa la la la la la la la la.....etc etc.

I mentioned on @pennyJo1960 s coffee club thread that I was baking these and was asked if it was here on the home bakers thread. I looked, can't find it so I thought I would add it.

I found this recipe over 40 years ago. My original was lost during moving so I went on an internet hunt and found many many incarnations of it. This recipe is closest to the one I remember. I chose it as it is a small batch, approx. 2 dozen cookies depending on size. It has been adjusted to reflect my memories of the recipe and in no means do I intend to infringe on anybody's copyrights.

These are super cookies though. Especially if you are a chocoholic.
Chocolate Crinkle Cookies.
Ingredients:

1)1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder ( I use dark chocolate cocoa from Hershey's)
2)1 cup granulated sugar
3)1/4th cup vegetable oil or melted butter/margarine
4)1 tsp vanilla extract
5)2 large eggs
6)1 cup all purpose flour
7)1/2 tsp baking powder
8)1/4th tsp salt

9)1/2 cup powdered sugar. Set aside until later

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°

Combine first 8 ingredients and blend until mixed and forms a soft ball. Chill, then scoop by teaspoons full and roll into ball then roll dough ball in the powdered sugar and place on parchment lined cookie sheet.

Place into oven and bake for 12-13 minutes.

Cool and enjoy.

This is a small batch recipe which is what I wanted. Makes approximately 2 dozen cookies depending on size and are super delicious. Almost like eating a brownie cookie. The heavier the coat of powdered sugar, the more pronounced the 'cracked glass' finish on the baked cookie.

Merry Christmas everyone and happy cookie baking!
Thanks for the Recipe!

It is in the google sheet now

If I made Christmas cookies now there would not be any left at Christmas!
Same here, my son baked his first cake and wouldn’t let me help him, but used one of my recipes, it turned out ok for a first cake (lemon sponge) , but… he wasn’t happy, I didn’t put a lot of stuff in the recipe cos I know it (pinch of salt, sift flour and baking powder, vanilla) so it wasn’t like he knew it, he said, next time, we’ll make it together. I must admit, I’m a very bad teacher, I usually do it by myself cos I can’t stand seeing it done the wrong way 🙈 he also said there was a ton of sugar in the recipe, I usually use only half of the sugar 😅

German Brown Bread

I've been making this bread for years and converted it to a bread machine recipe so long ago. Turns out this is
Thanks, tried this and it turned out good. Was a bit too sweet for me so I may omit the white sugar next time. May be that the cane syrup I used was not as bitter as blackstrap molasses. Also was out of whole wheat flour and substituted toasted pecan flour and wheat germ for it.
exactly like the Cheesecake Factory bread. Who knew!

Great! I usually do adjust the recipe, depending on whether I want it sweeter or not; like if we are having it with soup or with honey :)
